On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at St. Michael’s High School.
St. Mike’s is committed to excellence, offering a wide variety of academic and extra-curricular activities for all students to participate in. The accomplishments of our students are testimony to the school’s continued reputation for high achievement and student success.
The Student Agenda is made available to you so that you can keep track of, and fully participate in, the programs and activities provided at St. Mike’s. This agenda contains general information as well as the school code of conduct, which reflects the policies outlined in the WQSB Code of Conduct. It provides a framework for maintaining a safe learning environment for all. The entire school community is committed to ensuring that St. Mike’s remains a safe, orderly and enjoyable place to learn each day.
You will find monthly calendars listing important dates to assist you in your planning and organization. Managing your time and developing your organizational skills are important in becoming successful at the secondary level. Please also refer to the school calendar for exam periods etc. Use your agenda to keep track of your assignments, homework, tests and projects. I encourage parents to maintain contact with teachers so that we will work together to help students accomplish their goals. Often in high school that is through email, however, if you do not have email please write a note in your child’s agenda.
I look forward to working with students, staff, parents and our community partners in our continued pursuit of excellence at this particularly exciting time for our school as the construction of our new gymnasium will be completed this year.
