Over the past few weeks a group of St. Michael’s students have been working on organizing an event to pay tribute to Chanie Wenjack. This is where we begin our call for reconciliACTION!
This is a grassroots event that started in 2016, providing Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples throughout Canada with the opportunity to honor Chanie by walking some or all the 600 kilometers he needed to get home. Please visit the attached link to learn more about Chanie’s story (https://secretpath.ca/).
St. Mikes will be walking for Chanie on Friday, October 22nd, from Kazabazua to Low, Quebec. The walk will take place on the on the old train tracks for a total of 21 km.
If you would like to sponsor the Redhawk team and our walkers in this very important event, please feel free to donate to the cause using the following link.
